MAY WE KNOW THEM was a poster series and community-engaged arts project, celebrating inspiring women for International Women’s Day 2024.

FABRIQ invited the community to create a portrait of a strong woman who has inspired and shaped them. The portraits were then printed as a poster series, displayed throughout the neighbourhood and exhibited at the Lewisham Arthouse.

Over 40 portraits were submitted, with an additional 100+ portraits from the Year 4-6s from Our Lady & St Philip Neri in Sydenham. They depicted a variety of women, from past and present, reality and fantasy, from famous celebs to everyday heroes, showing us the power every woman has to inspire those around them.

“To strong women: May we know them, may we raise them, may we be them!”

Posters were also for sale, with all profits donated to Turf Projects, an affordable art space in Croyden, where the posters were risograph printed.
