DREAMSCAPES was an exhibition curated by FABRIQ and hosted by OPEN 205 gallery exploring the architecture of the surreal through the imaginations of local artists Paula Rodriguez and Arizona Smith.

When we conceive of space and the structures of the world around us, we use rational dimensions of scale, shape, light, height, width and depth to make sense of how things exist in relation to each other and ourselves. But in the world of dreams, what is the nature of space when these rules of reality don’t apply?

DREAMSCAPES invited viewers to immerse themselves in the psychic interiors of Arizona Smith and the imagined landscapes of Paula R Rodriguez, bringing attention to what stirs inside them when we alter reality and play in the space of our dreaming minds.

Following the exhibit, FABRIQ hosted a collage workshop inspired by the DREAMSCAPES artwork and symbols.
